Kerry O'Brien is one of Australia's most distinguished and respected journalists with six Walkley Awards for excellence in journalism including the Gold Walkley, and the Walkley for Outstanding Leadership. He has been a journalist for 46 years, starting as a cadet journalist with Channel Nine in Brisbane.

For 15 years he was Editor, Presenter and Interviewer for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation's 7.30 Report and for six years before that he was the Presenter and Interviewer for the Lateline program. Over that time he has interviewed many world leaders including Barack Obama, Nelson Mandela, Mikhail Gorbachev, Margaret Thatcher and Tony Blair, as well as many influential figures in the arts, science and business. He has also been a Foreign and Political Correspondent.

He is currently Presenter and Interviewer for the ABC's flagship investigative program, Four Corners. He also anchors ABC Television's election night telecasts.
