E. Giving & Receiving Feedback Wednesday July 14 2010, 9am - 1pm - Byron Bay Premium Brewery
This program is designed primarily for managers and other supervisory personnel, such as team leaders who give and receive feedback and conduct regular performance appraisals or reviews.
The goal of the training is to make participants aware of the important leadership opportunity of regularly giving and receiving feedback, in particular, the performance review, and to demonstrate and practice guidelines for effective written and verbal communication to be used.
Participants explore the skills to make giving and receiving feedback and the performance review process a unique opportunity for managers, supervisors and team leaders to act as facilitators and/or coaches for their employee’s personal and professional growth. The skills of effective written documentation, active listening, and constructive feedback are practiced.
Workshop Objectives
Participants will have the following opportunities:
¨To define what feedback is;
¨To identify the types of feedback, including constructive feedback and how regular feedback affirms positive behaviour in the workplace;
¨To explore the importance of employee/customer feedback and performance review as a leadership opportunity;
¨To define and practice a formula for giving constructive feedback and active listening skills; and
¨To effectively use the documentation process to develop a clear and written, constructive feedback mechanism.
